This is your opportunity to create your very own ring dish for yourself or that special someone. Come immerse yourself in our relaxing space and have some fun!
In this 2 hour workshop you will be guided through the process of creating your own ring dish from centering the clay to proper techniques for creating the form. It is required you attend at least one intro to throwing workshop at Gather beforehand, or have previous experience throwing on the wheel.
You will keep your favourite ring dish from the workshop which will be trimmed for you and fired with your choice of six different glazes. You also have the opportunity to save a second ring dish for an additional $10 charge. It is recommended you save two pieces as accidents can happen during the process to completion. Students are allowed to keep a maximum of 2 pieces.
At Gather we want. you to immerse yourself in a relaxing atmosphere so we provide tea, coffee and light snacks with every workshop accompanied by relaxing music. Imagine throwing on the wheel at a spa!
What to Expect:
Introduction to the Wheel: Learn the basics of using a pottery wheel, including how to center clay, pull up walls, and shape your piece.
Hands-On Practice: Guided step-by-step instruction will help you create your own unique pottery piece, such as a small bowl or cup.
Creative Exploration: Feel free to experiment and let your creativity flow under the supportive guidance of our experienced instructor.
A fun and Relaxing Environment: At Gather we strive to create an atmosphere that feels relaxing and zen like. You are welcome to come 15 minutes early to enjoy a coffee or tea in the space. Please try not to be late as it is disruptive to the other attendees.

Bring your enthusiasm and curiosity! By the end of the workshop, you'll have a handcrafted piece to pick up 6 weeks later and a solid experience to continue your pottery journey.
Class Size: Limited to 8 to ensure personalized attention and a more relaxed atmosphere.
Age Requirement: 16 and up. Children 10 - 15 can attend as long as they are accompanied by adult supervision and their feet can reach the pedal.
Please note, due to fragrance allergies, our studio is a perfume free zone. Please do not wear perfumes or body sprays.
Also remember to wear clothing you won't mind getting a little dirty. Aprons will be provided.
Note for people with long nails: It will be more of a challenge than normal to throw on the wheel if you have very long nails. It is advisable to have trimmed finger nails if possible, but not a requirement.
Cancellation Policy: Please be aware we require a minimum of four weeks notice for cancellation to receive a full refund and minimum two weeks notice to receive a credit for a future workshop. There are no exceptions, please plan your attendance accordingly. Special consideration will be given to natural disasters or extreme weather events.
