Intermediate Wheel Throwing with Dustin - March 18th @ The Gather Studio / 5pm - 8pm

CA$107.00

Welcome to our Intermediate Throwing Workshop!

Dive into the art of pottery and continue your learning journey with this advanced level throwing workshop! Perfect for those who are still new to throwing but want to push beyond the beginner level, this 3 hour class will introduce you to the fundamental techniques of wheel throwing and expand on those foundational skills to move into larger forms and more advanced techniques.

For this class we will be working with 2 - 3 pounds of clay. Some throwing experience is required to get the most out of this class, but don’t let that scare you if you don’t have much experience, the instructor will accommodate people at whatever skill level they have.

You are welcome to save your favorite piece that you create, with a choice of 5 different glaze colors. There is an option to save a second piece at an additional fee of $20. In order to keep the trimming and firing workload reasonable we do not allow students to save more than 2 pieces each.

Be advised that pieces are limited to simple forms such as a small dish, cup, or bowl, it is not possible to add handles, or make more complex objects with lids or spouts.

What to Expect:

  • Introduction to the Wheel: Learn the basics of using a pottery wheel, including how to center clay, pull up walls, and shape your piece.

  • Hands-On Practice: Guided step-by-step instruction will help you create your own unique pottery piece, such as a small bowl or cup.

  • Creative Exploration: Feel free to experiment and let your creativity flow under the supportive guidance of our experienced instructor.

  • A fun and Relaxing Environment: At Gather we strive to create an atmosphere that feels relaxing and zen like. You are welcome to come 15 minutes early to enjoy a coffee or tea in the space. Please try not to be late as it is disruptive to the other attendees.
